Tallow & Temperature During Shipping Process

We ship tallow with ice packs in the warmer months to try and avoid it arriving melted, but it can still melt in warm weather. Tallow softens with heat and hardens when cold, so texture may vary by environment. Avoid leaving it in hot cars or direct sun after delivery. Melted tallow doesn’t lose its benefits—it’s just as nourishing. If it melts, you can re-whip it or chill it for a balm-like texture.

Tallow Whips

If your whip looks half-full, it likely melted during shipping. It was full when it left us, but heat removes the whipped-in air, reducing volume (not weight). You can use it as-is or re-whip it:

Melt the whip in a double boiler.

Cool it in an ice bath or fridge until solid.

Whip with a hand mixer until fluffy again.

Tallow Balms

If melted, just pop it in the fridge until firm.
